Installing Pelago

In Shopify admin: Online Store → Themes → Add theme → Upload zip file. Open Customize to preview, then publish when you are ready.

Theme settings

Open the theme editor gear icon. Groups are organized for familiar Shopify workflows:

• Colors · background, text, secondary text, accent, secondary accent.
• Typography · body and heading fonts from Shopify’s font library.
• Logo and favicon · logo upload, logo width, favicon.
• Cart · drawer or page, cart notes, accelerated checkout.
• Inventory and shipping · optional low-stock and free-shipping theme signals.
• Social media · network URLs for the footer (leave blank to hide).
• Currency · show currency codes on prices when needed.

Home page sections

A typical Pelago home order (you can reorder sections freely):

• Hero · featured product, choose-a-piece rail, free shipping meter, add to bag.
• Trust grid · short value points.
• Featured collection · shelf of products.
• Spotlights / rooms · collection tiles.
• Journal · blog posts (optional).
• Newsletter · email signup for marketing consent.
• Apps · theme app blocks when you need them.

Header and footer live in section groups, so you can add announcement bars and footer menus without editing code.

Product page

The main product section uses blocks for title, price, variants, buy buttons, description, collapsible rows, app blocks, Follow on Shop, and more. Reorder blocks in the theme editor.

• Variant options use size pills and color swatches where configured.
• Accelerated checkout buttons appear with buy buttons when enabled.
• Shop Pay Installments banner is supported on the product page.
• You may also like (related) and Pairs well with (complementary) recommendation sections can sit below the product.
• Pickup availability can be added as a section when local pickup is set up in admin.

Collection and search

Collection and search templates share a catalog layout: product count, sort, filter rail, and a product grid that works with varied image ratios.

• Products show title, price (including “From” when prices vary), and a Sale badge when compare-at is higher.
• Sold out products are labeled.
• Empty collections and empty search results show a clear message and next step.

Cart and checkout

• Cart type · Drawer (quick bag) or full cart page, set under Theme settings → Cart.
• Drawer includes line items, totals, checkout, and a link to the full cart page.
• Full cart page shows a ledger of lines plus an order summary with subtotal, estimated total, notes (optional), and checkout.
• Quantity uses plus and minus controls; totals update live.
• Discounts, unit prices, and selling plans are shown when present on a line.
• Accelerated checkout is available on the cart when enabled.

Filters (Search and Discovery)

Pelago renders filters. Facets themselves come from Shopify’s free Search and Discovery app.

• Install Search and Discovery, open Filters, and add availability, price, options, or metafields.
• The filter rail then appears on collection and search pages.
• Color options can render as swatches when configured as swatches.

Free shipping and stock signals

Theme settings can show a free shipping progress bar and low-stock messaging using your real cart total and inventory. Set the free shipping threshold in dollars (for example 150). Set it to 0 to hide the bar.

Newsletter

The newsletter section uses Shopify’s customer form with marketing consent. Signups appear under Customers in admin and can be used with Shopify Email or your email app.

Gift cards

Pelago includes a gift card template (code, QR, Apple Wallet when available) and recipient fields on gift card products: recipient email, name, message, and optional send date.

Create the product under Products → Gift cards in admin.
